One night a year the South Dakota advertising crowd gathers to showcase their best work and earn bragging rights. Agencies and marketing teams alike take turns planning and executing the night to ensure it’s unique and remembered. Led by Caliber, this year’s Annual Pissing Contest (aka American Advertising Awards) took us back to that ubiquitous setting in which countless Gold Addy-winning works of art undoubtedly made their debut… your local Dive Bar.

TAKE A SHOT AT THE TOP SPOT

In the branding process for Addy's Lounge, an initial choice was made for a somewhat unappetizing color palette. To elevate the visual appeal, custom illustrations were crafted to complement promotional show headlines, and careful consideration was given to the selection of typefaces. Concise and clever headlines, along with thoughtfully crafted copy, were used to capture the essence of Addy's and set the desired tone for the overall show experience.

COME AS YOU ARE, THERE AIN'T NO DRESS CODE.

The night felt like walking into that bar that fits like your favorite worn-out jeans. Smoke machines and neon signs provided that hazy glow and drew in the crowd like a moth to the flame. A place where bullshitting and beer never felt so productive. Complete with all your favorite songs you’d hear from that ole corner jukebox and PBR by the keg. Cheers to all in attendance and diving into the theme strong - it sure was a blast!
