Conquering Writer’s Block
By Casey Schultz on Feb 7, 2022
Behind every copywriter is the pesky roadblock standing in their way. Writer’s block. It’s inevitable and something that every writer struggles with. We all have our ways of pushing through it, but I thought I would share a few of mine.
Clear your mind
We’re human. We have a million things on our minds. Try to clear your head and focus on the task in front of you. Don’t allow room for endless distractions.
Go to your happy place
Whether that’s a quiet room with the door closed or in an open space and your favorite Spotify playlist on, take yourself to that happy place. You will do your best work where you feel comfortable.
Gather your thoughts
Get your ideas and thoughts on paper, even if it’s turning out to be a REALLY rough draft. You have to start somewhere, anywhere.
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again
On the days that you just can’t make it happen, don’t beat yourself up. Everyone has those days. Sleep on it and knock it out with a fresh mindset.
At the end of the day, always remember why you started writing in the first place: For the joy of it.
